There are several key items you need to know to give your city-state a better chance this week.
Renaissance Espionage: Trying to weaken rival city-states or even overthrow their rulers was a way of life in Renaissance Italy, and will be recreated with our Espionage game. Below are the rules for this game.
1. You may only attempt to turn in ONE copy, from any rival city-state.
2. You must print out the copy (see links below), and put both your name and the name of your city state on it for identification purposes.
3. You must turn in the plans of your enemy to me (Mr. Taliaferro) personally, at any point between 7:30 AM and 2:05 PM, Tuesday to Friday this week only.
4. Plans must remain an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper, but may be disguised, folded, etc.
5. Plans must be handed to me, not thrown, left on my desk, or handed to me by another person in your name.
6. You may seek me out at any point during the day, but I will not cover for you if you are late for another class.
7. If you see someone trying to turn in their plans, you must be the FIRST one to make the following accusation in Italian.
"A nome del papa, mi accusi _________ di tradimento!"
8. If you are successful in turning in the plans, you receive 2 points and take away 2 points from the city state whose plans you successfully delivered to me. If you are caught, your two points go to the person who caught you.
9. Any points you gain from catching another spy will not be added to your total until AFTER you have attempted to turn in a set of plans.
10. If someone catches a spy in the act who had in turn caught others before him/her, then ALL of their points are transferred to the person who caught them.
